Having a solid morning and night routine is vital to making sure you look glowy all-day and go to bed with a routine that will prepare you to look your best when you wake up. With a strong routine, you can become consistent with your skin care, so that it almost feels like second nature. Consistency is definitely key when it comes to your skin. There are various ways you can do your skincare, but the general consensus for the best glowy routine is as follows:

Morning☀︎

  1. Cleanser
  2. Toner
  3. Serum
  4. Eye Cream/Patches
  5. UV Protection
  6. Makeup

Night

  1. Cleanser/Remove Makeup
  2. Exfoliate
  3. Serum
  4. Facial Treatment (if needed)

Cleanser ☀︎ +  ☾

There are many amazing cleansers on the market. Some of which are super clean, classified as exfoliators, balms and even powders. Cleansing your face first thing in the morning is not only the perfect way to wake up, but it’s the first step to making sure you rid your gorgeous face of any dirt, oils or left over makeup. The most recent trend is to double cleanse — which is definitely a game changer to giving your face a clean, clear and fresh base for the rest of your routine.

Toner ☀︎

This is possibly the most fun part of your skincare morning routine. It’s so satisfying to see all the build up left on your skin come right off. You feel so shiny and new after putting on a toner. Toner also helps to hydrate, balance pH, and tighten your pores. Toners certainly give your skin an extra-deep clean, and you can even use it before putting other products on your face to create an even, cleaner base. While the experts praise using a toner in just the morning, it doesn't hurt at all to use toner all day long — especially to remove excess bacteria and dirt at night (so you should probably add that to both).

Serum ☀︎ + ☾

After you tone (in the morning) or exfoliate, do not forget your serum! Different serums have different purposes. You might use a serum for brightening like a vitamin C or antioxidant based products — but another way to look glowy is to keep your skin plump with a hyluaronic acid for hydration and bounce. Certainly vitamin C is the best for a glowy look because it helps to protect your skin from UV while also boosting collagen production.

Eye Cream/Patches ☀︎

Nobody wants to look tired during the day. Having an under eye cream with retinol to help brighten, or placing a set of under-eye patches on your skin will do the trick. Whether it is a quick swipe of cream, or taking the extra 10 to 15 minutes to apply eye patches, it is well worth it, and certainly makes you look more lively, and glowy throughout the day. For best results, do this every day to help fade out dark under-eye circles, and to achieve the ultimate rested and glowy look.

UV Protection ☀︎

Although you might not see the sun all the time, protecting your skin from UV rays is a great way to make sure your skin is healthy and radiant. Not only could UV rays be harmful long-term with respect to aging, these rays dull out your skin, creating masses of dead skin cells, as well as an itchy and potentially dry surface. By applying a tinted sunscreen or lotion with SPF in it, you could easily protect yourself from UV which will make your skin look flawless even on the hottest of days when yu're truly craving a day outside.

Exfoliate ☾

Finding a good exfoliator is tricky, but at night after you’ve cleansed (or double cleansed), this should absolutely be your next step. This will help to remove dead or polluted skin to make it appear less dull, and give you a glowy base before you doze off, leaving your skin even brighter the next morning. Not to mention various exfoliators allow your skin to absorb skincare better, and even prevents clogged pores which could lead to acne prone days. Exfoliation is a vital part to the nighttime skincare routine, so make sure you get your hands on an exfoliator that works best for you!

Facial Treatment ☾

Many of us have some blemishes, or areas of our skin that we’d love to take care of. Luckily, thanks to the help of the incredible dermatology industry, we have plenty of topical creams, and other treatments to help our acne, scars, or even dark spots fade away in no time. Sleeping with these treatments on are typically what medical professionals advise — this is because your skin will absorb the product and there will be plenty of time for whatever you may need to register and start fixing. Don’t forget this integral final step to your nighttime routine, and be consistent.

Honorable Mention: Korean Skin Care ☀︎ +  ☾

Korean beauty products are some of the best — but it cannot be stressed enough how much different Korean products have changed some gals' skin as a whole. Korean skincare helps your skin in a deeper, more thorough way that other kinds of skincare products, which creates more long lasting results. If you haven’t invested, you should.
