Possibly one of the most popular on social media, data entry is often offered as a form of part-time work that companies hire for. The gist of the position is swiftly and timely inserting information given to you by a specific company into their online database. This often means inputting qualitative and quantitative metrics and data into an Excel sheet or form. Sometimes, you’re given the opportunity to transcribe data into a more digestible format, which means this position is pretty important! If you’re not into being on the phone, most companies have now implemented a 24/7 chat service so you can instant message them instead. So, even if you’re skeptical of the prospect of speaking to strangers online, we suggest you take a look at what positions like these are looking for. Customer service assistance can sometimes open up a career path to project management positions!
Depop, Poshmark, and eBay
If you’re looking to up your spending money, then we’re sure you might be in the running to let go of some clothing items you don’t necessarily wear/need anymore. Donate what you’d like, but also consider selling some of your prized closet staples on digital reselling sites like Depop or Poshmark. Some of your favorite items, I’m sure, cost a pretty penny. Why not find someone like minded and excited to get some wear out of your retired piece? Thrift stores like Plato’s Closet or Beacon’s Closet often buy some of the clothing you’re interested in giving away! So, if you’re within close distance from a thrift store that’s interested, you can do that, too (though staying in my pajamas and slippers while selling at home is my favorite way to sell.) Certain postage companies will even pick up your package to mail out!

There is no deficit of writers in marketplaces like UpWork, where thousands of aspiring creatives are eager for an extra set of eyes to look over their novel or poetry. If you have a knack for grammar and plot structure, this is a very great way to make some passive income. The job poster will vet you, so if you have something to show for your skills, make sure to build a brand on that. Social media is a perfect place to market your editing and writing skills and allows you to connect with other editors in the space that might have a lead for you.
Freelance Graphic Design/Social Media Marketing
Much like writing and editing in the freelance space, if your tastes lean more into the visual art category, consider building a portfolio of hypothetical marketing campaigns, logos, digital social media posts, and more to really show off what you can do. Investing in a pro-tool like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva Pro may help you make even more dough in the long run as the pro versions offer limitless possibilities for visual editing. If you have a special talent for DIYing, we suggest you turn that hobby into a stream of income! Handmade gifts are becoming few and far between because of the continuing growth of super fast fashion. In my teen years, I was waking 20 dollars an hour looking after the sweetest kiddies you’ll ever meet.
