The start of the year is packed with major events from awards season to one of our favorites — New York Fashion Week (NYFW). This year a range of designers, including many newcomers in the world of fashion, created all kinds of looks that mark the start of new trends for the year and iconic looks that we’ll soon be recreating. Lucky for you, we’re staying at the forefront of fashion and picked out some of our favorite looks from the runway for you to recreate in your everyday style.
Overall, there was a recurring theme that tied many different looks together, and that was this idea of a corporate chic aesthetic. Models were walking in oversized layers with clean tailoring, pinstripes, and more muted color palettes. A personal favorite from this aesthetic was Kendall Jenner's Calvin Klein look with the long blazer paired with the ballet flats. Though a simple look, it still makes a statement from the silhouette. The look is almost reminiscent of a 90s corporate look but with a modern twist of minimalism. While it may seem obvious on how to recreate this look, the real trick is in the accessories, like the bag and glasses.
The designer made her debut at this year's NYFW after already building a strong fan base across New York. Her story starts with a simple love for embroidery and has grown into a brand focused on sustainable luxury. It’s only fitting that her looks on the runway showcase her skill and love for all things embroidery. Another trend that came out of this year's fashion week was the boom of street-style looks. This look pairs so well with our new favorite trend of colored sneakers as a fun and feminine street look.
Another example of this corporate chic theme that brought together the looks of the event is this Michael Kors look. The relaxed fit and grungy element is a great twist on an otherwise more tailored and prim aesthetic, but what we’re really loving is the addition of the maximalist jewelry in the large pendant necklace. That trend was something we saw a lot of towards the end of 2024, and this was a pleasant twist on the accessory.
This look is a great example of the blend between edgy and elegant. The mix of the voluminous and feminine bubble skirt with the more masculine leather boots and jacket makes for an interesting look in shape, texture and so many other ways. The all-black ensemble is such a timeless look, but Lemaire did a great job of reviving this look in a new way.
