At the beginning of the season, we dove deeper into some of our favorite jewelry trends of the season. All these trends and our stand out pieces had a common thread—statement pieces and a maximalist aesthetic.

What is Maximalist Jewelry?

Maximalism abides by the philosophy that more is more. When you think of this in terms of jewelry, think bold colors, shapes, and patterns. You want these accessories to make a statement by breaking free from the regular fashion rules. Even if you’re using colors and patterns that would clash, they’re styled in a way where they compliment each other and seem intentional.

Maximalist style is all about making statements, which means it's the perfect form of self-expression in your outfits. This can be from just wearing more accessories or finding ones that are bold enough to wear alone, we’ve found some of our favorite styles and pieces to accessorize with this season.

Necklaces

Blue Murano Glass Butterfly Necklace Set - A great starting point for a stack of necklaces. The pop of color mixed with the butterfly shape gives a youthful and feminine statement piece for a stack of chains.

Pandora ME Medium-Link Chain Necklace - When it comes to building a stack, I always love including a simple and basic chain. The larger links in this one add to the maximalist aesthetic with a bigger and bolder shape. This is a great versatile piece that can easily be built on with anything else.

Bianca Layered Charm Necklace Set - Charm necklaces are a great maximalist accessory. They’re a great way to show personality through the little details in the charms. Even if you’re someone who is still dipping your toes in the maximalist pool, charm necklaces are super versatile and can be toned down or brightened up with more pieces depending on your vibe.

Triple-pearl necklace - Pearl necklaces are always a timeless accessory. This one from Mango takes the traditional pearls and puts a maximalist spin on it. It’s classy and edgy at the same time and would be great either on its own or paired with a stack.

Bracelets

Pack of 3 combined resin bracelets - Cuffs and chunky bracelets are the epitome of maximalism. This pack gives you the perfect basics that you can either pair together or wear individually. Either way the shape creates a statement with any outfit you pair it with.

Sculptural Chic Gold and Silver Two-Piece Cuff Bracelet Set - Mixing metals or two toned metals is another great way to play around with this style. These cuff bracelets are a fun play on shape and color to make your outfits more interesting and make your accessories pop.

Patra Diamond Tennis Bracelet - Tennis bracelets are always an elegant accessory in any outfit. This one from Mejuri is a fun maximalist take on that. While it is a more dainty piece, the diamond shapes add a fun twist to the otherwise understated design and is perfect if this is a style you’re still dabbling in.

Circle Dome Bracelet - We love this one from Anthropologie because nothing says “more is more” than a large beaded bracelet. The dome plates give the illusion of beads on a chain, and even though they have the edge of a statement piece, there is still an elegance to them

Colorful Beaded Chicklet Bracelet - While these ones are more dainty, they make for great bracelet stacks. If you’re someone who loves color, these would be a great piece to include in your fall wardrobe. While it is a season with more muted colors, it doesn’t hurt to stack different pops of hues on your wrists for a fun look.

Earrings

Large Mod Hoop Earrings - These hoops are the epitome of maximalist jewelry. They’re a bold piece that still embraces simplicity. While they are a little chunkier, they are surprisingly lightweight on the ears making for a comfortable but still stylish accessory.

Beaded drop earrings - Drop earrings quickly became a fall fashion favorite this season after appearing on the runways and eventually making their way to everyday looks. We love this pair from Mango. The contrast of metallic bead work from the floral design is a bold and feminine look that would work great with your holiday looks this season.

Bold Expression Gold Chunky Teardrop Statement Earrings - Teardrop earrings have quickly become a must-have in every jewelry box. This oversized pair from Lulus takes that classic style and creates an even bigger statement with it. It’s the perfect bold accent to your everyday looks.

Blossom Drop Earrings - These are a fun statement piece to add to your outfits. While I would normally pair bright colors like these with summer outfits, the orange compliments the brown tones of the season and would make for a fun pop of color and brightness in your more muted looks.

Rings

Molten Shapes Ring - This is the perfect statement ring to add to your stacks of more dainty rings. While its elegant and doesn’t have much embellishment, it the chunky metal and organic shapes make it a fun piece to accessorize with.

Hudson - This would be a great complimentary ring to the teardrop earrings. It would also make for a great statement piece to a larger ring stack. So versatile and so elegant.

Stone volume ring - Nothing makes a statement like a bright red stone. If you’re someone who enjoys silver jewelry, which has also been trending this season, this is a great bold piece to accessorize with.

Darla Rhinestone Ring Set - Maximalism is all about having more, but that doesn’t mean your looks can’t be cohesive. This set from Urban Outfitters will give you the more is more look while still making everything look more put together.
