It's an exciting time for us to explore a new phase of fashion. New York Fashion Week just came to an end. Many of us are clearing out our closets to make room for the new trends we’re looking forward to in fall, but my favorite part of this seasonal ritual is taking inventory of my jewelry box and seeing what will fit with my looks for the season. While it might not be feasible to update your entire wardrobe, investing in a few pieces of jewelry can give a whole new look for the season. Accessories are key whether you want to elevate a simple outfit with statement pieces or simply complete an elaborate look. We’ve created a guide to show you our new favorite jewelry trends of this year and how you can add them to your collection.

Stacked rings

Despite being the smallest accessory, rings are starting to make more of a statement as people are beginning to accessorize their looks with stacked rings. Stackable rings incorporate a fun and playfulness to any look, especially as we’re seeing people experiment with different colors and shapes in their pairings. The rules of stacking rings is that there are no rules, so incorporating stacked rings is a great way to personalize your look and make it uniquely you. If you’re someone that enjoys leaning into the playfulness, think of adding in different colors and stones, while also mixing metals with different bands. On the other hand, if you prefer something more minimalist, create a cohesive theme across all your rings and maybe opt for thinner bands with subtle designs and then pop with a single statement piece. We found a range of rings that work as a starting point, with a mix of basic bands you should have and can be customized to your liking.

Chokers

Everyone’s favorite Y2K accessory is back with a modern twist. Just like the last two trends, chokers are leaning into a chunkier more maximalist look. We’ve seen everything from chunkier chains to large beaded necklaces. These aren’t often stacked and stand alone as a statement piece for a look, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be paired with other favorites layered around. Leaning into the feminity of pearl, the Sophie Buhai Pearl Choker is a great way of contrasting the bold with the delicate. But if you'd prefer a more simple look, the chunkier paperclip chains from Ana Luisa are a simple and modern take on the classic choker.

Drop earrings

As much as we love a classic hoop or a simple stud, this season drop earrings are having their moment. As an ode to the maximalist revival, a lot of looks on the runway were paired with statement drop earrings. To recreate these looks, lean into colorful stones and chandelier drop earrings for a dramatic look. Even if you’re not trying to make a statement and want to avoid the chunky jewelry, dainty drop earrings, like the Ana Luisa ones, lean into the playfulness of this trend through shape instead, while still looking elegant and elevate your look.

Pendant Necklaces

Pendants are often a dainty staple in almost every look. But just like everything else this season, this is taking a much bolder turn with larger pendants hanging on longer chains. This trend started on runways and made its way onto everyday looks. Instead of the usual dainty pendant on a light chain, we’ve seen variations from larger sculptural pendants to thicker and longer chords instead of chains. While a lot of these pendants are normally worn on their own, if you’re someone that enjoys a “more is more” approach to your looks, you can blend this with our previous love for stacked necklaces to create a more maximalist look. You can recreate this look by either having a simple statement pendant, like Ana Luisa's pebble necklace or lean into the boho aesthetic with Urban Outfitter's beaded chain and heart pendant.

Cuff Bracelets

Insert every single cuffing season pun you can think of here. Cuff bracelets became a staple over the summer as statement pieces that replaced the dainty chains that we layered on our wrists. On the runways, we’d seen these paired with a mix of formal and casual looks, highlighting the versatility of it. We saw everything from stacked bangles to standalone chunky cuffs around wrists. This trend is an ode to the '80s maximalism aesthetic that is making a comeback, but many designers have been putting their own spin on it by shaping the metal in new ways and pairing them with stones and gems. Cuff bracelets are a great way to create a bold mark in look. Urban Outiftter's cuff bracelet's inclusion of etching is a fun way to include patterns into your look. But if you're going for something more minimal look, the Mejuri Dôme cuff brings in that organic shape and movement in a simple and understated way.

Looking at these trends, they’re simply revivals of past favorites with a modern twist. It’s clear we’re leaning into bolder looks and making more statements, but the important thing to remember is to put your own twist on it and make it personal. Whether you’re looking to update your entire look for the season or just want to make some simple changes to make the past feel new, these jewelry trends are a great way to do just that.
