Gazette Gal

The colder months and holiday season are often synonymous with our favorite shopping holidays. As much as I love a good Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale, there’s another one just around the corner from October 8 to 9 — Prime Day. As a prime member, I truly enjoy taking advantage of this time to stock up on my favorites and essentials. Especially going into a new season and wanting a refresh of my space, I love taking advantage of this sale to set myself up for success this season. We’ve broken down a list of essentials that go on sale based on early deals and deals from past Prime Days.

Fashion

Amazon has been one of my favorite places to find basics. Aside from the convenience, a lot of the stores offer a variety of styles and quality that make it so much easier to find the best in one place. This means stocking up on basics for the colder months and here are a few that I’ll be sporting this season:

Coach's revival in the last year has made them a staple in my closet for bags. Especially when it comes to an everyday tote, aside from looking super chic, their bag is light and doesn't weigh down my shoulders while still giving enough room for the essentials like my laptop, keys, and more. This is my favorite bag to carry into the office.

I always love having a good pair of white sneakers and every season I rotate them out for a new pair to keep the clean look. These Reebok's a great pair for the fall to give any outfit a goof vintage pop.

This Amazon Essentials fleece jacket is a cozy yet chic staple I’ll be adding to the wardrobe. The lapel and button down tailored design are almost reminiscent of a trench coat, but the fleece material is similar to that of a sherpa jacket. It’s a great combination of the two styles that works well with day-to-day outfits. Especially if you live in colder areas, the lining and fabric keep you warm. This’ll be a great layer to add for your outfits this season.

Boat neck tops made quite the comeback this year and made it into almost every capsule wardrobe we built in our closets. And why wouldn’t they? The neckline screams elegance and is flattering on so many different body types. This is another Amazon Essentials find you’ll want to stock up on during the sale. The ¾ sleeve is great for this transitional season. Whether you’re beginning to feel the autumn chill or still riding the heat wave of the summer, the fabric is really breathable and the variety of colors works for all different seasons.

A classic pair of Levi’s. That’s it. That’s the tweet. As we’re heading into the colder months, I want a few staple jeans that I can use with almost every outfit. With Levi’s, there’s no need to look any further. The high quality of these jeans goes without saying. This pair in particular, the premium Ribcage design, is a classic straight leg cut at the ankle. I love pairing pants at this length with boots, something I style a lot especially in the colder months, and creating a look with these two paired together.

Beauty

Prime Day is also a great time to grab your favorite beauty items. Amazon sells a lot of my favorite brands that I include in my daily routines, but every once in a while, a new product piques my interest and I love taking this time to test it out. Whether it’s a product you’ve always wanted to try or stocking up on your regulars that run out every few months, this is a great time to take advantage of these deals.

I've made my way through several mascaras and tested out more than I can possibly remember. There's very few that have left a lasting enough impression for me to go back and buy a second tube, with the exception of L’Oréal's Panorama mascara. Not only did I get great corner to corner coverage with the applicator, this left a natural fullness and length on my lashes that completed every make up look I'd wear.

Everyone know's Maybelline's products are cult classics with lasting formula's and great shade ranges, especially for a drugstore brand. This means your favorite cost friendly concealer is now available for an even better deal. This is a product I never leave the house without and is easily making its way into my cart.

A new product I've always been intrigued by is Snail Mucin. It's been around for a while and has been recognized as a great product with a buffet of benefits including hydration, smoother skin, collagen and so much more. Especially going into the colder months when most people's skin needs a little extra booth, this is a great time to try out this product if you haven't already.

A new find you can expect in my cart is the Wavytalk Iron Set. This curling set comes with five different attachments to give your hair five different looks. It’s easy to carry around and comes with additional accessories like clips and a glove, giving you everything you need if you’re a beginner with these tools. This set also receives praise for being able to hold heat well, keeping curls and waves intact for longer and giving more definition to them.

Laneige’s sleep lip mask took the world by storm when it first came out. If I’m being completely honest, this product wasn’t just exclusive to my nighttime routine, and I found myself reapplying throughout the day for soft and glossy lips. This lip balm is a great solution for that. The formula leaves me with the same hydration, but the packaging makes it easier to travel with and the various scents just make it more personalized to what I like.

A product you’ll always find in my skincare drawer is a pack of Mighty Patches. These always have to be on hand for those occasional breakouts. Instead of picking at them, pop one of these on and they’ll clear it up within a day or two without leaving any scarring. This’ll be the best time to stock up on a few packs, especially if you’re like me and your skin is still recovering from the heat and humidity of the summer.

Home and Lifestyle

This is also a great time to invest in key things for your home and general everyday use. Prime Day deals are usually the best when it comes to investing in this category for shopping. These are some of my favorites that have helped me build my ideal home and enjoy the space more.

I love the feeling of an actual physical book—flipping through the pages and smelling the parchment with words printed on it. But once I bought a Kindle, I couldn’t go back. It’s so much easier to travel with a small tablet that holds all your books in its library, not to mention the great deals you get with Amazon on the books as well when you buy them through Kindle. This is definitely worth investing in with the upcoming sale.

Ring doorbell cameras are essential for any homeowner and even renter. The head-to-toe imaging is great especially for when you need to keep an eye on the packages and mail dropped off at your door. Aside from that, it’s just important to take safety measures in your home space, regardless of if you live alone or have roommates.

My day can never start without a cup of coffee. This year I challenged myself to cut down on the Starbucks drinks and try to make it at home instead. To do this, the best thing to do is invest in a good coffee machine at home. This Nespresso set comes with both the espresso machine and a milk frother so you can start your mornings with your caffeine fix and enjoy it how you like it prepared.

If you’re like me, and you live in a smaller apartment but still love to entertain and have a few key pieces of furniture to make your space pop, a bar cart is a great accessory. Safavieh has a great selection and this smaller two tier cart gives enough room without taking too much space. The gold metal and minimalist design is great if you're looking for a more elegant piece for your space.
