It's that time of the year again. I absolutely adore looking at the fashion highlights of any award show, and today, we're moving our eyes over to the Emmys 2024 looks. The opulent outfits that shout celebrité... the expensive designer dresses that only come out of retirement for one idyllic evening.
Though every star-studded individual shows up and shows out, we can't possibly recreate every single look of the night. So, we compiled some of our favorite looks and researched affordable alternatives so you can recreate the looks whether you're walking a red carpet like them, or simply trying to find a chic get-up for an evening out on the town. Stick with us — you don't want to miss what we found!
Now, don't get me wrong. Miss Cox always comes to slay the night away, but this simply blew my mind. There's nothing like a sleek and sultry maxi slip dress to get the crowd going and leave all wide eyes on you. The fit of the dress is mermaid-like, hugging her waist and hips perfectly whilst leaving room for the ankles and upper abdomen to breathe.
I always suggest opting for wider straps when it comes to slip dresses, because the thick straps scream, "outside dress" rather than "bedroom intimates." To dress it up even further, Cox is wearing an aureate mesh bib statement necklace that complements the gold embroidery that travels up the dress. This with her hair color and golden skin tone — chef's kiss. To top it off, she's stunting a long, black, satin shawl/cape hybrid that really brings the entire look together. In my opinion, this look would work without it, too. Below, you'll find some recreation dupes (minus the gold embroidery), and an additional shoe option that isn't pictured.
Ella Purnell walked out onto the carpet with something to prove (not that she needed to prove anything.) The "Fallout" actress is stunting a metallic plunge neckline dress designed by Paco Rabanne. Since most of us don't have a Rabanne budget, we opted for something that shares the same eye-catching details of this garment. The plunge neckline gives us the perfect amount of collarbone and chest, both delicate and the slightest bit sensual.
She opted to go bare-necked, but made up for it with glimmering jewels on both wrists and hands. Let's call attention to the beautiful drop earrings, which call attention back to her jawline and soft mermaid curls. A pointed toe is always a good idea when it comes to a longer, loose-fitting dress because it brings some edges back into the look. Rita Ora is giving anything but "Black Widow" in this baby pink number. The look is reminiscent of both extravagant burlesque inspiration and 1920s flapper with the feathers. It looks like going bare-necked is in, but it works especially well with strapless dresses that have a trail of feathers following behind it. A simple sweetheart neckline complements the baby pink hue of the look, but Ora texturizes it to keep it interesting.
Definitely rolling with the sleek, yet not-so-simple look, Ora opts for a lighter makeup look and simple accessories to keep all eyes on her shawl. Coat? Blanket? It doesn't matter. It just works. We didn't get a glimpse of the shoes she's rocking, so I added a pair that'll work beautifully with this inspiration photo. Unfortunately, the feathered accessory pictured is hard to come by if you don't have billionaire bucks to spare, so I found one similar that is pre-loved but just as chic.
Miss Selena, the woman that you are. She is stunting a simple, gorgeous black dress with a cross-front halter neck tricked out with silver sequins. Looks like Gomez is opting for extra bling, shown on her hands, wrists, and ears. The velvet of the dress is giving old movie star, but The Only Murders In The Building actress was there to be honored in all of her TV glory.
She's running with the cool-toned shades and metallics, utilizing her jewelry so there's never a moment where the red carpet lights don't bounce off of them beautifully. The drop earrings she's wearing share a likeness to Ella Purnell's pictured above, so we know that this might just be a trend for red carpet styles moving forward. If you're sick of #LBDs and want to try your hand at a more sophisticated style, the dress I've listed below is a great place to start. Now, we patiently await the next star-studded red carpet event...
